Day five: Last day to soak it in

So our last full day on the Island was a little bit of a mess. Marti and I were not feeling so well, her because of dinner, me because of my day of liquid libations and all that jumping around the fire...not smart. So we proceeded to lay around all day and just enjoy our last day in paradise. We landed back at Hemingways for lunch and were served up a mean dish of fish and chips. Delish!

In the afternoon we all headed down to the beach for one last romp, where Heidi and I spent a lot of time talking about life. The topic of conversation was my self realization that I am unhappy with my job and that I need to make some sort of life change. I have been giving all of my time and energy to a job I don't love and not spending nearly enough time with the man that I do. It is hard to realize what you thought would be good for you is in fact not, and that it might be time to move on and go after something else. I couldn't decide if it was the beginning of a vacation hangover or real feelings that I had towards my current work situation. I decided that I would leave it for another day so I didn't ruin my vitamin D buzz.

So to wrap up our fabulous vacation we went to the Caicos Club for dinner and had homemade pasta, great red wine and even better conversation. The four of us may all come from different backgrounds but we sure do have a lot in common. By the end of the night, Candi the blonde Midwesterner, Heidi the red headed Jew, Marti the black girl from Chicago and Lacy the Southern brunette made a pact to be travel companions for life.

No matter where the road leads, it should always point you in the direction of your heart. Or at least to a place with good cocktails and conversation.
